My thoughts on deer…
They’re so graceful and wonderful. I just saw three of ‘em on my way home from work. One was hanging out in the middle of the road while the other two were in the field beside the road. I stopped to watch the one in the road but she got spooked and ran back to the others in the field. I live in an area where I get to see deer all the time - in the road, by the pond in our yard, everywhere. Unfortunately though, it also means that during certain times of the year I can’t stop at the gas station down the road without noticing at least one lifeless body hanging over the edge of some scum-of-the-earth asshole’s big, stupid, gas-guzzling pickup truck. It makes my heart hurt to see it. Killing is not a sport, a hobby. I’ve heard men laugh about how they don’t even like the taste of deer meat. It makes me sick. Each time I see one of those beautiful deer, I send them some love and wish them safety and respect.
